We’re excited to announce a brand-new addition to the Sauce Brewing team. Introducing Simon, our new Head Brewer!

Simon comes to us with a wealth of brewing, process control and management experience. Most recently he was Head of New Products & Technology at 4 Pines Brewing Company, having spent a good number of years there in various leadership roles.

His brewing and product development experience, plus attention to process and quality control, will be an invaluable asset to us here at Sauce. I’m looking forward to him whipping us into shape!

What better way to get to know Simon than a few quick fire questions.

  1. Tell me about your role at Sauce.
I have taken over as head brewer, overseeing the production of all the delicious products here at Sauce.
  2. What’s your go-to Sauce beer and why?
Hop Sauce is my favourite as an everyday drinker, it has a great hop character with a crisp clean body, for a bit more punch its pretty hard to pass up the Extra-hop Sauce though.
  3. Give us your favourite quote!
I love pressure. I eat it for breakfast.
  4. Any hidden talents we should know about?
Not really, I like to think I’m a jack of all trades and a master of none.
  5. When you’re not at Sauce, what are your hobbies?
A bit of everything! I like getting out and about and trying new things but getting out and about in the great outdoors is probably my favourite thing to do, rain hail or shine.
  6. Do you have any pets?
    No I don’t, but I love dogs.
  7. What’s an unbeatable Sauce beer-food pairing?
I think a delicious beer can go with just about anything, but my favourite pairing at the moment is the Caribbean Fog and either a steak or parmi.

And now for the lightning round….

What is your favourite:

  • Cocktail – Martini
  • Food – Yum Cha
  • Colour – Green
  • Smell – The air just after a rainstorm
  • Music genre – Rock
